Ford Transit Courier: Potential Touch Condition Between Brake Line Union Nut And Fuel Tank
Ford is recalling 17 Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier vehicles because the brake line connection may rub against the fuel tank over time, potentially causing brake fluid or fuel leaks. A brake fluid leak could reduce braking performance, while a fuel leak could create a fuel smell and fire risk if fuel contacts hot exhaust surfaces. Ford will inspect affected vehicles and install a protective spacer to prevent the rubbing.

- Reason
- A small number of Courier vehicles that could potentially develop a touch condition over time between the brake line union nut and the fuel tank. If the brake line union nut connection becomes loose due to a touch condition with the fuel tank the friction with the fuel tank may lead to a brake fluid leak or in some cases a fuel leak from the fuel tank. If a brake fluid leak occurs the driver may notice reduced brake performance followed by a red warning light in the cluster. If a fuel leak occurs there is the potential for fuel to come into contact with hot surfaces from the exhaust system...
