Zero Motorcycles Ds: Short Circuit May Occur
Recall Summary Zero Motorcycles is recalling 572 motorcycles (DS, S, XU, and X models) because the Battery Management System circuit board lacks sufficient weatherproofing on its connector pins. In wet conditions, this could cause the pins to short-circuit and make the motorcycle suddenly lose power, potentially causing a crash. Dealers will clean the affected motorcycles and apply weatherproofing compound to the connector pins.

- ZERO MOTORCYCLES
- Product
- Vehicles: ZERO MOTORCYCLES DS, ZERO MOTORCYCLES S, ZERO MOTORCYCLES XU, ZERO MOTORCYCLES X_. Units affected: 572
- Reason
- These motorcycles have a Battery Management System (BMS) printed circuit board (PCB) with insufficient weatherproofing compound on its connector pins. This condition could cause adjacent pairs of the BMS PCB connector pins to short-circuit when subjected to wet conditions. Short-circuiting of the BMS PCB connector pins could cause the motorcycle to inadvertently lose power which could lead to a possible crash and potential injury or death of the rider. Remedy: Affected machines will be recalled to be thoroughly cleaned and have weatherproofing compound applied to the BMS PCB connector pins.
