Volvo Trucks Fl6: Possible Fire Risk

Volvo Trucks FL6 Recall Summary Volvo Trucks is recalling 20 FL6 vehicles because radio voltage transformers were incorrectly connected, allowing the engine to start even when the master switch is off. This can cause the voltage transformer to overheat and create a fire risk inside the vehicle. Volvo will replace the voltage transformer and modify the wiring to fix the problem.

Product
Vehicles: VOLVO TRUCKS FL6. Units affected: 20
Reason
As a result of the radio voltage transformers being incorrectly connected the master switch does not isolate the electrical system. It is therefore possible to start the engine with the master switch OFF which could melt the 3 amp voltage transformer and cause a fire within the vehicle. Remedy: The affected vehicles are being recalled for the fitment of an alternative voltage transformer with modification to the associated wiring.
