- The two panes of glazing that make up the window may separate as a result of UV degradation. The separation takes about two years to progress to failure after the separation has started. In the worst case a separated pane could come loose from the unit. Remedy: Recall the units that are likely to be affected to repair the windows by fixing them together with a specially developed screw material. If the owner requires new improved windows can be purchased at a reduced price.
