Subaru Impreza: Engine May Cut Out
Recall Summary Subaru is recalling 160 Impreza and Forester vehicles in the United Kingdom because the main engine wiring harness may be incorrectly routed, allowing it to rub against the engine inlet manifold and become damaged. This damage can cause the engine to run roughly, trigger a warning light, or in some cases cause the engine to shut off completely. Affected vehicles will be checked and the harness will be rerouted or repaired as needed.

- Vehicles: SUBARU IMPREZA, SUBARU FORESTER. Units affected: 160
- Reason
- It is possible that the main engine wiring harness may have been incorrectly routed within the engine bay. This can allow the harness to chaff on the engine inlet manifold. This can result in damage to the harness which will either cause rough running of the engine illumination of the engine management light or in the extreme cases cause the engine to cut out. Remedy: Recall all affected vehicles to check the routing of the harness and if necessary reroute and repair the harness.
