Honda Motor CO Civic: Engine May Stall
- Recalling firm
- HONDA MOTOR CO
- Product
- Vehicles: HONDA MOTOR CO CIVIC. Units affected: 583
- Reason
- It is possible that a diode within the DC converter of the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system became damaged during initial testing. Over time the diode could deteriorate and eventually fail causing a short circuit within the IMA system which results in the 100amp fuse blowing. A melted fuse will result in the engine stalling and the engine cannot be restarted. There will not be any noticeable symptoms prior to the engine stalling. Remedy: The dealer will replace the DC converter with a new one.
