Triumph Sprint St: Ability To Change Gear May Be Affected And Neutral Indicated With Gear Selected

Recall Summary Triumph is recalling 2,284 motorcycles (Sprint ST, Speed Triple, Street Triple, and Tiger models) because a faulty neutral switch and weak detent arm spring can cause incorrect gear indication and difficulty changing gears. The neutral indicator may show neutral when a gear is actually selected, potentially causing the motorcycle to lurch forward, or riders may have trouble shifting gears smoothly. Triumph will replace the detent arm spring and neutral switch washer to fix the issue.

Product
Vehicles: TRIUMPH SPRINT ST, TRIUMPH SPEED TRIPLE, TRIUMPH STREET TRIPLE, TRIUMPH TIGER. Units affected: 2,284
Reason
The instruments may indicate neutral is selected when the machine is in gear which could lead to the machine jumping forward at junctions or the rider changing gear unnecessarily. Additionally a weak detent arm spring could cause poor gear changing necessitating additional time selecting gears. Remedy: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the detent arm spring and replace the neutral switch washer.
