Mini Mini Paceman: Risk Of Fire
Recall Summary MINI is recalling 38,336 MINI Paceman and MINI Countryman vehicles sold in the United Kingdom because moisture can enter the wiring connector for the Electronic Power Steering system and cause the ground connector pin to overheat, potentially resulting in fire. MINI will replace the wiring harness with an improved connector design to prevent moisture entry.

- MINI
- Product
- Vehicles: MINI MINI PACEMAN, MINI MINI COUNTRYMAN. Units affected: 38,336
- Reason
- In certain conditions moisture could gain entry into the wiring connector that powers the Electronic Power Steering (EPS) and the EPS unit. This moisture can then in very rare cases penetrate the EPS through the ground pin and cause overheating of the ground connector pin which can in turn lead to fire. Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the supplementary wiring harness with one that has an improved connector sealing arrangement.
