Recall Summary Cook Medical Japan is recalling certain Tornado Embolization Coils used to block blood vessels during medical procedures because some coils in the affected lots may be the wrong size—specifically, coils with a 6mm proximal end instead of the intended 3mm size. The incorrect size could be detected before use by checking the product number on the protective tube, but if used during surgery, could cause longer procedure times or tissue damage. No injuries have been reported to date in Japan or internationally.
