Mercedes Benz E-class: Front Airbag May Be Deactivated

Recall Summary Mercedes-Benz is recalling approximately 7,494 E-Class vehicles because the front passenger seat weight-sensing system may have been incorrectly installed during manufacturing. When the passenger seat is adjusted to certain lower positions, this can cause a pressure hose to kink, which tricks the system into thinking a child seat is present and deactivates the front passenger airbag. Owners should have their vehicles inspected by a dealer to check for a kinked hose and receive any necessary repairs.
