Paragon Vehicle Services Mitsubishi Approved Towbar For L200: Towbar May Detach

Recall Summary Paragon Vehicle Services is recalling 61 Mitsubishi L200 towbars because the bolts securing the ball hitch support bar may be incorrectly positioned. If the bolts are not properly fitted through both the bar and frame, they can loosen and break, potentially causing the towbar to detach from the vehicle. Owners of affected vehicles should have the ball hitch fitment checked and, if necessary, have it refitted with new bolts tightened to the correct specification.

Vehicles: PARAGON VEHICLE SERVICES Mitsubishi Approved Towbar for L200. Units affected: 61
Reason
The two horizontal fixing bolts that fix the ball hitch support bar to the tow bar frame may be incorrectly located. This defect can be seen by looking under the rear of the vehicle at the two bolts to ensure they pass through both the bar and the frame. If ignored this could lead to the ball hitch bar becoming loose and tilting and ultimately the fixing bolts could break leading to the tow hitch detaching from the vehicle. Remedy: On affected vehicles check fitment of ball hitch. Where necessary refit ball hitch with new bolts and tighten to the correct specification.
