BMW 7 Series: Short Circuit May Occur
Recall Summary BMW is recalling approximately 3,342 vehicles from the 7, 5, and 6 Series, X5, X6, and Alpina models due to moisture entering the additional coolant pump for the exhaust turbocharger, which can cause a short circuit. If the issue goes unaddressed, the pump may overheat and potentially cause the plug connection and housing to melt, posing a risk of localized fire in the engine compartment. Owners will receive a warning message on their instrument panel display. BMW will replace the affected coolant pump in recalled vehicles.
