Ford Transit Courier: - Transit Courier Tourneo Courier - Brake System Potential Contamination

Ford is recalling 14 Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier vehicles in the United Kingdom because their brake systems may be contaminated with mineral oil, which can cause rubber seals and hoses to swell. This swelling could potentially reduce brake performance and increase stopping distance, raising accident risk. Ford dealers will inspect the brake systems on affected vehicles and replace any contaminated parts.

Vehicles: FORD TRANSIT COURIER. Units affected: 14
Reason
Courier vehicles on which the brake system may be contaminated with mineral oil. This can cause swelling of rubber components in the brake system (hydraulic seals brake hoses etc). In some circumstances if swelling occurs there is potential for the brake system to lack hydraulic pressure which may result in longer brake pedal travel and reduced brake performance therefore increasing the risk of an accident. Remedy: The Ford dealer will inspect the brake system on all affected vehicles and will replace all the parts affected by this condition.
