Mercedes-benz Vans Sprinter 907: B-pillar Reinforcement

Recall Summary Mercedes-Benz is recalling 701 Sprinter 907 and 910 vans because welds on a reinforcement piece in the right B-pillar (the vertical support between front and rear doors) may not be properly made. If this reinforcement loosens over time, it could fail to properly support seatbelt forces during a crash, increasing injury risk. Mercedes-Benz will rework the B-pillar reinforcement on affected vehicles as needed.

MERCEDES-BENZ VANS UK LTD
Product
Vehicles: MERCEDES-BENZ VANS SPRINTER 907, MERCEDES-BENZ VANS SPRINTER 910. Units affected: 701
Reason
On affected vehicles the weld points of a reinforcement in the right B-pillar may not correspond to the specifications. In this case the reinforcement in the B-pillar may work loose over time and fail to transmit the belt forces to the B-pillar as intended. This would increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident. Remedy: Rework the B-Pillar on the affected vehicles if necessary.
