Bailey Of Bristol Unicorn: Wheel May Detach
Recall Summary Bailey of Bristol is recalling 2,236 Unicorn caravans because the wheel nuts may not be clamped tightly enough, which could eventually cause a wheel to detach. The manufacturer will fix the caravans by installing new treated wheel nuts and tightening them to the proper specification. Labels with recall information will be placed on the caravan and in the owner's manual.
- Recalling firm
- BAILEY OF BRISTOL
- Product
- Vehicles: BAILEY OF BRISTOL UNICORN. Units affected: 2,236
- Reason
- As a result of insufficient clamp force being applied to the wheels it is possible for the wheel nuts to slacken. Eventually this could allow a wheel to detach. Remedy: Recall the caravans that are likely to be affected to fit new wheel nuts that are treated with a dry lubricant and apply a torque of 160Nm. Labels with the appropriate information will be affixed to the caravan by the wheel arches and also stuck into the Owner's Manual.
