Mercedes Benz Bus Sprinter: Fire May Occur
Mercedes Benz Bus Sprinter Recall Summary Mercedes Benz is recalling 8 Sprinter buses in the United Kingdom because the engine oil separator's fleece filter can become blocked with dirt, causing pressure to build up in the engine and allowing oil to leak onto hot engine components, which could result in a fire. The manufacturer will replace the original oil filter with a cyclone-type filter to fix the problem.

- Vehicles: MERCEDES BENZ BUS SPRINTER. Units affected: 8
- Reason
- It has been identified that the fleece filter insert of the engine oil separator may become obstructed with dirt particles. It is therefore possible that an increase in pressure within the crankcase may occur with the result that oil could escape onto hot engine parts. Should this occur a fire may ensue. Remedy: Recalled vehicles will have the original oil filter replaced with one of a cyclone type.
