Daf Trucks Xf: Axle May Displace
Recall Summary DAF Trucks is recalling 1,486 XF and CF model vehicles because some front axle leaf springs were installed backwards during production. If a backwards spring breaks, the front axle could lose some of its positioning control. The manufacturer will inspect affected vehicles and reorient any incorrectly installed springs.
- Recalling firm
- DAF TRUCKS
- Product
- Vehicles: DAF TRUCKS XF, DAF TRUCKS CF. Units affected: 1,486
- Reason
- It has been identified that during production on a number of vehicles the leaf spring of the front axle has been fitted the wrong way round. In the event that the spring should break there would be a reduction of the positional control of the front axle which is afforded by the second leaf eye wrap. Remedy: Recalled vehicles will be checked for correct orientation of the front springs which will be corrected if found not to be in compliance.
