Alexander Dennis Enviro: Brake Failure Could Occur

Alexander Dennis is recalling 63 Enviro buses because the right rear brake actuator may contact the axle casing as brake pads wear, potentially causing a bolt to fracture and separate part of the actuator from the main body. This separation could increase the stopping distance of the vehicle. The manufacturer will reposition the clamp band and inspect and replace the clamp bolt if needed.

Vehicles: ALEXANDER DENNIS ENVIRO. Units affected: 63
Reason
Right hand rear brake actuator may contact axle casing when brake pads wear and calliper/actuator assembly move inboard. Actuator band clamp bolt may fracture resulting in separating of actuator service portion from main actuator body. If the concern occurs the stopping distance for the vehicle will increase. Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and reposition the clamp band to ensure no risk of a foul condition remains. The clamp bolt will be examined for signs of contact and replaced if witness marks present.
