BMW Motorrad R1800 Pure: Control Unit For Reverser
BMW is recalling 1,081 BMW MOTORRAD R1800 motorcycles because moisture can seep into the reverser control unit, causing the internal electrical contacts to corrode. The affected models are the Pure, Classic, Rocktrain, Bagger, and Transcontinental. As an interim fix, the reverser control unit will be disconnected, and it will later be replaced with an improved version.

- On affected vehicles the reverser control unit may be insufficiently sealed allowing moisture to lead to corrosion of the internal electrical contacts. Remedy: On affected vehicles the reverser control unit will be permanently disconnected as an intermediate measure. The control unit will then be replaced by an improved part once available.
