Recall Summary Daimler Truck is recalling 39 eActros 983 and eEconic 956 vehicles because the electric power-steering pumps may fail due to corrosion at electrical connections. If both front pumps fail, steering effort will suddenly increase significantly, making the vehicle harder to steer. The manufacturer will replace the affected pumps with improved versions.

- The electrohydraulic power steering pumps (EHPS) may fail on eActros 983 and eEconic 956 model vehicles. Due to insufficient anti-corrosion protection at the electrical connections and production tolerances the electrohydraulic power steering pumps may fail. If both electrohydraulic power steering pumps at the front axle fail the steering forces suddenly and significantly increase as soon as the second electrohydraulic power steering pump fails.
