Kawasaki Zx1200a2: Possible Loss Of Tyre Pressure From Front And Rear Tyres

Kawasaki is recalling 3,742 ZX1200A2 and ZX1200A1 motorcycles because the tire valve nuts on the front and rear wheels can crack due to stress and corrosion, potentially causing tire pressure loss. Low tire pressure can affect how the motorcycle handles and performs. Kawasaki will replace the valve nuts with larger, improved ones and replace the washers underneath them.

Product
Vehicles: KAWASAKI ZX1200A2, KAWASAKI ZX1200A1. Units affected: 3,742
Reason
The tyre valve nut on the front and rear wheels can crack from a combination of stress and corrosion. Because the affected units are fitted tubeless tyres cracking of the nut can lead to a reduction of tyre pressure. This could adversely affect the handling and performance of the vehicle and may create a risk of an accident possibly resulting in personal injury. Remedy: Fit replacement tyre valve nuts of increased size and improved material. Replace washer beneath the valve nut with one of improved material.
