Vw Eos: Clutch May Operate Inadvertently With Unexpected Loss Of Drive

Volkswagen is recalling 24,598 vehicles (EOS, Passat, Jetta, Golf, Caddy, Scirocco, and Touran models) sold in the United Kingdom because a gearbox control unit error can cause the clutch to open unexpectedly, resulting in loss of drive. The issue occurs rarely due to incorrect clutch temperature interpretation. Volkswagen will update or reprogram the gearbox control unit to fix the problem.
