Kawasaki Klx250: Engine May Cut Out
Kawasaki is recalling 555 KLX250 motorcycles because water can enter electrical connections through the wiring harness in wet conditions, causing corrosion that may make the engine shut off. Additionally, the fuel injection wiring may wear against the frame and lose its insulation, which can also cause engine shutdown. The recall affects vehicles distributed in the United Kingdom.

- Product
- Vehicles: KAWASAKI KLX250. Units affected: 555
- Reason
- When the machine is used in wet conditions (or when washing) water may enter the ECU or vehicle down sensor connections through the wiring harness. This can lead to corrosion on the terminals. Also the wiring for the fuel injection may rub on the frame wearing the insulation away. Both of these situations may cause the engine to cut out creating the potential for an accident. Remedy: Check ECU down sensor and harness for damage and replace items if required.
