Ford Kuga: Clutch Pressure Plate May Fracture

Ford Kuga Clutch Recall Summary Ford is recalling approximately 977,592 vehicles (Kuga, S-Max, Mondeo, Focus, Galaxy, and C-Max models) with 1.0, 1.5, or 1.6 Ecoboost engines and 6-speed manual transmissions because the clutch pressure plate may fracture. This fracture can cause clutch smell and reduced performance, and in rare cases could result in noise, transmission damage, and potential fire risk under the hood. The fix involves either a software update that detects clutch problems and alerts the driver (for vehicles with Engine Stop Start), or installation of a new clutch kit (for vehicles without Engine Stop Start).
