Ballymaguire Foods Recall Various Brands Of Prepared Meals And Side Dishes Because Of Possible Contamination With Listeria Monocytogenes

Ballymaguire Foods is recalling multiple prepared meal products sold under the Clean Cut and Good Food Locally Sourced brands across all batch codes due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. Listeria can cause flu-like symptoms including fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea, and in rare cases may lead to serious complications like meningitis, particularly in older adults, pregnant women, babies under one month old, and people with weakened immune systems. The affected products include various ready meals such as beef stroganoff, chicken carbonara, curry dishes, pasta bakes, and rice bowls sold in the United Kingdom.

Reason
The possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the above products. Symptoms caused by Listeria monocytogenes can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications such as meningitis. Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.
