Recall Summary Scania is recalling 311 trucks because some track rod links are missing slots needed to properly secure the ball joints that connect the steering components. When slots are missing, the clamp cannot hold the ball joint securely in place. Affected trucks must have their track rods inspected and replaced if slots are found to be missing.

- There should be 2 or 3 slots at each end of the track rod link. The ball joints at the ends of the track rod are secured by tightening a clamp over the slots. In some cases there have been instances of slots missing from the track rod link. Remedy: Check the correct number of slots at each end of the track rod link. If there are slots missing the track rod must be renewed. For chassis found with incorrect track rods they are not to be released until the part is replaced.
