Land Rover Range Rover: Range Rover And Range Rover Sport Plug-in Hybrid Battery Capacity
Summary Land Rover is recalling 2,344 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in hybrid vehicles because welding defects in the battery may reduce its capacity and electric driving range below what the vehicle was designed to provide. This lower-than-expected electric range means the vehicles don't meet their certified emissions standards. The manufacturer will replace the hybrid battery or battery modules in affected vehicles.

- Vehicles: LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER, LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT. Units affected: 2,344
- Reason
- The manufacturer has identified a concern on certain Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in hybrid vehicles where due to inadequate penetration of welding between the cells the battery’s capacity and therefore the vehicle’s electric range may be depleted below the design intent condition. A below-specification electric range will not meet the as-certified value for the vehicle and is therefore non-compliant to emissions legislation. Remedy: Vehicles will have the hybrid battery/modules replaced.
