Kawasaki Zx1400a6f: Separation Of The Frame Cross Pipe.

Kawasaki is recalling 4,956 ZX1400 motorcycles because engine mounting collars may have been over-tightened during production, which can cause the frame's lower cross pipe to crack and potentially separate. Affected models include the ZX1400A6F, ZX1400A7F, ZX1400B7F, and ZX1400B6F sold in the United Kingdom. Owners will need to have the engine mounting collar torque checked and adjusted, and the engine mounting frame inspected and replaced if necessary.

KAWASAKI
Product
Vehicles: KAWASAKI ZX1400A6F, KAWASAKI ZX1400A7F, KAWASAKI ZX1400B7F, KAWASAKI ZX1400B6F. Units affected: 4,956
Reason
It is possible that the engine mounting adjustment collars have been over tightened during production. In the affected machines in certain circumstances it is possible for the frame lower cross pipe to crack and if left unattended the cross pipe could separate resulting in the potential for an accident. Remedy: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to check the torque of the engine mounting collars and where necessary retorque them. If the mountings have been over tightened the engine mounting frame will have to be removed for inspection and replaced where necessary.
