Recall Summary BMW Korea is recalling 1,421 K1600 series motorcycles (K1600GT, K1600GTL, K1600B, and K1600B Grand America) produced between October 2016 and January 2025 due to a sealing defect in the reverse assist control unit that allows moisture to enter and corrode internal electrical contacts. Over time, this corrosion can cause the reverse assist system to malfunction, and in rare cases, leaking electrical current between corroded contacts may cause the component to overheat and potentially create a fire risk. The manufacturer will replace the affected control unit with an improved version.
