Haldex Predominance Valve: Tractor/trailer Brake Imbalance Concern

Recalling firm
HALDEX
Product
Vehicles: HALDEX PREDOMINANCE VALVE. Units affected: 40,000
Reason
It has been found under certain circumstances a rubber flap located in the predominance valve chamber can become detached from its carrier plate. The flap may partially obstruct a communication port causing a higher than normal pressure being required to apply the trailer brakes. If the valve was set with predominance then a change in the braking pressures and subsequent tractor/trailer brake imbalance may result. Remedy: All predominance valves in the affected date/specification ranges are to be modified with a service kit available free of charge from Haldex.
