2020.0 Ford Escape - Visual System
Recall Summary Ford is recalling certain 2020-2024 Explorer, Escape, Lincoln Corsair, and Lincoln Aviator vehicles because a software problem may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying when the transmission is in reverse. Without a working rearview camera, drivers have reduced visibility behind the vehicle while backing up, which increases the risk of a crash. Ford will mail owners with instructions once a fix is available.

- Reason
- Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display properly when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
