BMW Motorrad C650gt: Luggage Carrier May Detach

The fix involves re-securing the fasteners with thread-locking compound and replacing brackets if needed.

- Product
- Vehicles: BMW MOTORRAD C650GT. Units affected: 118
- Reason
- Vehicle operation can cause the threaded fasteners of the luggage carrier (optional accessory) to lose their preload and in the course of time these fasteners can work loose. There is a possibility of the luggage carrier detaching itself from the vehicle if loosened threaded fasteners remain unnoticed. Remedy: Recall all the vehicles that are likely to be affected to ascertain whether a luggage carrier is fitted. All luggage carriers installed on vehicles will be re-secured with thread-locking compound applied to the threaded fasteners with replacement of brackets as necessary.
