Honda Motorcycles Vfr1200f: Engine May Seize

Honda VFR1200F Motorcycle Recall Summary Honda is recalling 403 VFR1200F motorcycles sold in the United Kingdom because manufacturing debris (aluminium swarf) may remain inside the engine and block oil passages, reducing lubrication. This could cause unusual engine noise or, in severe cases, engine seizure. Affected motorcycles need inspection of the engine oil gallery, with engine replacement if necessary.

Product
Vehicles: HONDA MOTORCYCLES VFR1200F. Units affected: 403
Reason
Aluminium swarf from the manufacturing process may not have been fully removed from the engine assembly. The swarf may restrict the engine oil passage reducing the lubrication capacity. Remedy: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to inspect the engine oil gallery and where necessary the engine assembly will be replaced.
