Suzuki Grand Vitara: Drive Belt Tensioner May Break.
Recall Summary Suzuki is recalling 2,690 Grand Vitara vehicles in the United Kingdom because the drive belt tensioner's internal spring may break. If this happens, the drive belt can lose tension or come off entirely, which could affect the alternator, water pump, air conditioning, and power steering, causing warning lights to appear and potentially making the vehicle harder to steer. The fix involves replacing the drive belt tensioner assembly.

- Reason
- The internal spring within the drive belt tensioner may break causing the drive belt to loose tension. This will prevent the alternator water pump and air-conditioning compressor pulleys from operating. Warning lamps associated with battery charging and engine coolant temperature will illuminate. In the worst case the drive belt may come off preventing the power steering pulley from operating increased driver effort will be required to steer the vehicle.
