Paccar: Oil Contaminated Power Distribution Center (electrical System)
Recall Summary PACCAR is recalling certain 2027 Peterbilt and Kenworth vehicles because their power distribution center boxes may contain oil contamination, which could disable critical safety systems including brakes, lights, windshield wipers, and engine power. This contamination poses a crash risk because drivers could lose lighting, braking function, or the ability to control the vehicle. Dealers will inspect and replace affected boxes at no cost, with owner notifications beginning in September 2026.

The power distribution center (PDC) box may be contaminated with oil, which could result in a loss of drive power, Antilock Brake System (ABS) functionality, exterior lighting, windshield wipers, or the defogging system. - Reason
- A loss of lighting, windshield wipers, ABS function, or a loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash. Remedy: Dealers will inspect the PDC serial numbers, and replace the PDC boxes as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed September 25, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available.
