Scania Lpgrs Series Truck
Recall Summary Scania is recalling 1,609 LPGRS series trucks because the air pressure control system has two defects: the ventilating valve seal can soften from oil contamination, and moisture in the compressed air can freeze in cold temperatures, both preventing the system from maintaining proper air pressure. If the defect occurs while driving, the air pressure will drop, triggering a warning light and automatically applying the emergency brake, or the system may fail to build pressure after engine start, preventing the parking brake from releasing and leaving the vehicle immobilized.

- Reason
- For the air pressure control system (APS), (1) The material of the seal of the APS ventilating valve is inappropriate, consequently the seal could be soften due to oil contamination and airtight of air pressure may not be retained. (2) Sealing effect of the valve could be hampered and airtight may not be retained on account of frozen moisture in the compressed air when the ambient temperature is low due to inappropriate control program. Therefore, air leakage occurs accompanied by warning lamp displayed and emergency brake is applied due to dropped system air pressure if the vehicle is...
