Tesla: Rearview Camera Image May Not Display (back Over Prevention)

Tesla is recalling certain 2017 and 2021-2023 Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles with software version 2026.8.6 because the rearview camera image may be delayed when backing up, reducing visibility behind the vehicle. This delay increases crash risk and violates federal safety requirements for rear visibility. Tesla is providing a free software update to fix the issue, with owner notification letters expected to be mailed July 3, 2026.
