Vauxhall Antara: Brake Performance May Be Reduced
Recall Summary Vauxhall is recalling 4,403 Antara vehicles because some may have been filled with incorrect brake fluid during manufacturing, which can cause corrosion inside the ABS brake modulator. This corrosion can cause the brake pedal to require more pressure or travel distance to stop the vehicle, and in severe cases could extend stopping distances. Dealers will inspect and replace the brake fluid, and replace the ABS modulator if it is found to be damaged.

- Product
- Vehicles: VAUXHALL ANTARA. Units affected: 4,403
- Reason
- It is possible that a number of vehicles may have had the brake system filled with the incorrect brake fluid which can cause corrosion in the hydraulic ABS modulator. This can cause internal valves to stick which can result in possible longer brake pedal travel. In extreme cases this could result in increased brake pedal travel and stopping distances. Remedy: Recall all affected vehicles to check the ABS modulator and to replace the brake fluid. If found defective replace the hydraulic ABS modulator.
