Ktm Exc: Fuel May Leak

KTM is recalling 4,008 EXC and SX motorcycles sold in the United Kingdom because the fuel cap may leak if not properly secured or if it gets knocked during off-road riding, which could spill fuel on the rider and engine. The manufacturer will replace the fuel cap with a new self-locking design to fix the problem.

Product
Vehicles: KTM EXC, KTM SX. Units affected: 4,008
Reason
Under certain circumstances it is possible that if the customers do not properly secure the fuel cap or if it is knocked by the rider's body during off road use then the fuel tank cap may leak and allow fuel to leak over the rider and engine. Remedy: To overcome this issue the manufacturer is to recall the likely affected machines to fit a new design of self locking fuel cap.
