Mercedes Benz G Class: Door Lock May Fail To Release
Recall Summary Mercedes-Benz is recalling 4 G Class vehicles because the cable connecting the inner door handle to the door lock may not meet specifications and could fail to release after an accident, potentially trapping occupants inside. The outer door handle will still function normally. Mercedes-Benz will replace the cable on all four doors of affected vehicles.

- Vehicles: MERCEDES BENZ G CLASS. Units affected: 4
- Reason
- Following an accident the forces required for releasing the door may be increased. The cable between the inner door handle and the door lock not being to specification may not be able to withstand these increased forces leaving the door unable to be opened from the inside. This may increase the risk of injury. Unlocking the door via the outer door handle is not affected. Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and fit a quality assured cable between the inner door handle and door lock on all four doors.
