Recall Summary Children's school backpacks with lunch bags and pencil cases from China are being recalled because the purple coating and synthetic resin components contain excessive levels of lead (1.7 times above standard), cadmium (1.9 times above standard), and phthalate-based plasticizers (up to 108 times above standard).
