Mercedes Benz Unimog: Hydraulic Fluid May Leak
Three Mercedes Benz Unimog vehicles may experience damage to a hydraulic system component that could cause up to 40 liters of hydraulic fluid to leak quickly without the driver noticing. While the vehicle can still be stopped safely if this occurs, the leaked fluid on the road creates a collision risk for other drivers. Mercedes Benz UK is recalling the affected vehicles to replace the faulty component with a screw plug.

- Reason
- Damage and leaks at the elastomer stop plug of the return line to the hydraulic valve block may occur due to sudden pressure peaks in the hydraulic system. It could therefore be possible that up to 40 litres of hydraulic fluid to escape in a short time unnoticed by the driver. If this damage occurs the vehicle can still be stopped safely. The hydraulic fluid that escapes will increase the risk of collision for other road users Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the elastomer stop plug at the hydraulic valve block with an appropriate screw plug.
