2014 BMW 3 Series - Airbag
BMW is recalling 303 units of 2014 3 Series, 4 Series, and 2 Series vehicles due to a defect in the side curtain airbag inflators that could rupture unexpectedly and propel metal fragments toward occupants, or fail to inflate properly during a crash. This defect increases the risk of injury in the event of an accident. BMW will mail owners instructions to bring their vehicles to a dealership for replacement of the affected airbag inflators.

- Issue: On certain vehicles, the side curtain airbag inflator(s) could rupture and separate unexpectedly. As a result, a piece of metal from the inflator could be propelled toward vehicle occupants with or without the airbag(s) deploying. This could also cause the side curtain airbag(s) not to inflate properly in a crash. Note: This is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2024-241.
