Nissan Motor () Navara: Stop Lamp May Not Be Functioning As Expected

Recall Summary Nissan is recalling 5,560 Navara vehicles because the high-mounted stop lamp on some accessory hardtops may not light up at the same time as the regular brake lights, particularly after engine start. A voltage drop during engine starting can prevent the lamp from working properly. Nissan will modify the wiring and power supply to fix the issue.

Recalling firm
Nissan Motor (GB) Limited
Product
Vehicles: Nissan Motor () NAVARA. Units affected: 5,560
Reason
It has been identified that under certain unusual conditions the High Mounted Stop Lamp (HMSL) fitted to Navara accessory hardtops does not illuminate simultaneously with the vehicle's stop lamps. During engine start it is possible that a voltage drop can occur which may fall below the HMSL operating threshold. This may result in HMSL not illuminating following engine start. Remedy: Recall all affected vehicles to modify wiring and the supply to the HMSL.
