Chrysler Jeep Grand Cherokee: Front Airbag And/or Seatbelt Pre-tensioner May Deploy Unexpectedly

Recall Summary Chrysler is recalling approximately 12,886 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Cherokee vehicles because the airbag control module may cause the front airbag and/or seatbelt pre-tensioner to deploy unexpectedly while driving, which could distract the driver and lead to a crash. The manufacturer will replace the faulty control module, and vehicles that previously had a related repair completed will also need the airbag filter circuit removed. The recall is currently suspended for WG/WJ model vehicles due to parts availability issues, though KJ models are not affected.
