Nissan Motor () Nv200: Back Doors / Hatchback May Be Unsupported When Open
Recall Summary Nissan is recalling 13,131 NV200, X-TRAIL, and e-NV200 vehicles because the paint coating on the back door gas stay doesn't meet anti-corrosion standards. The gas stay tube may corrode and crack, losing pressure and allowing the back door to drop unexpectedly. Nissan will replace the affected back door gas stays.

- Product
- Vehicles: Nissan Motor () NV200, Nissan Motor () X-TRAIL, Nissan Motor () e-NV200. Units affected: 13,131
- Reason
- The paint coating applied to the back door gas stay does not comply with the design requirement for anti-corrosion. Therefore the outer tube of the gas stay may corrode and crack resulting in the loss of the pressurised gas inside the gas stay. In this condition the gas stay would be unable to support the opening of the back door allowing it to drop on the vehicle user. Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the back door gas stay.
