2021 Ford Bronco - Fuel System

2021-2023 Ford Vehicle Fuel System Recall Summary Ford is recalling over 15 million vehicles from 2021-2023 model years (including F-150, Explorer, Mustang, Bronco, Super Duty trucks, and others) because the low-pressure fuel pump may fail, causing rough engine running, starting problems, or sudden loss of engine power while driving. A sudden loss of power while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Ford will mail owners instructions to visit a dealership for a software update to the powertrain control module, and Super Duty models will also have the fuel pump replaced.

Reason
Issue: On certain vehicles, the low-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start and the check engine light may turn on. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the powertrain control module software. For Super Duty models, the dealer will replace the fuel pump.
