Ktm 990 Superduke: Sticking Of One Way Valve In Engine Ventilation System

KTM 990 SUPERDUKE Recall Summary KTM is recalling 177 units of the 990 SUPERDUKE motorcycle because a one-way valve in the engine ventilation system may become stuck. If this happens, pressure can build up in the engine's crankcase, potentially causing oil seals to fail and oil to leak onto the wheels and tires. KTM will rework the crankcase breather valve to a new specification to fix the issue.

Vehicles: KTM 990 SUPERDUKE. Units affected: 177
Reason
The possibility exists that a one way valve within the engine breather system may stick. Should this occur there is the possibility that the crankcases could pressurise which may result in oil seals failing allowing oil to escape from the engine. there is also the possibility that some oil could make its way onto the road wheels and tyres. Remedy: Recalled machines will have the crankcase breather valve reworked to a new specification.
