- In case of faulty signals of the torque sensor, the software might lead to unintentional steering movement of the vehicle. If the failure is not correctly detected due to software weakness, an unintentional steering movement of the vehicle cannot be ruled out and causes the steering vibrations. If a failure of the software is detected by the steering gear system correctly, the driver is alerted by a check control message "Limited steering assistance", a minimal change in steering feel while driving and limited steering support in standstill.
