Toyota () Proace: Risk Of Fire

Recall Summary Toyota is recalling 150 Proace vehicles because the starter relay may be defective and could remain in a closed position, causing the starter to overheat and potentially catch fire. The relay defect could also allow the vehicle to start moving if left in gear. Toyota will replace the affected starter relay.

Reason

There is a possibility that the relay linked to the electrical circuit of the starter is out of specification. As such the relay might be blocked in a closed position. If this occurs there is a risk of the starter overheating and a theoretical risk of fire. Also if left in gear the vehicle could also start to move. Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the starter relay.
